not yet carrion

feeding on me

whilst  I’m still alive

tearing chunks

of un-putrifying flesh

from bone

without courtesy

of  preliminary nibble

to check for vital stats

lacking the decency

of a vulture

picking

through my belongings

laying claim

to that thing

you’ve always had your eye on

a life for sale

a la carte

Unfinished Business

it’s

summer

and

I’m

alive

though

there

is

this

business

of

mine

with

Death

but

maybe

I

can

keep

him

at

bay

with

music

and

memories

of

pleasanter

times

(past or future)

I

will

stand

and

be

true

I

will

not

succumb

to

petty

bitchery

I

will

not

drown

in

the

tide

of

past

mistakes

I

am

predisposed

to

it

this

mad

muscle-ache

it

is

bell jar

better

to

live

under

the

bell-jar

and

suffocate

in

the

collection

case

(i could not be a Ferdinand anyhow)

Letter to Death

Death,

my eternal friend,

I know we have some business to tend to.

Not just yet…but soon.

Soon.

Your embrace may be cold

but it will be

True

Strong

Lasting

&

Final.
