Love is Not in the Falling, it is in the Staying.

Picture a tree on the playground of an elementary school.  If you look closely you will see Bobby + Suzy 4-Ever inside a big lopsided heart carved into the bark. Or better yet picture a pimply-faced boy walking through the forest, with a pained expression on his face, scribbling sappy drivel on post-it notes and sticking them to trees.  This is what I envision when thinking of most people’s concept of love.

Few truly understand the nature of love.    Like carving on a tree most have  barely scratched the surface when it comes to love.  Many are  in love with the idea of love more than actually in love with their mate/spouse/etc. or the reality of love.

I am not disparaging of love I only wants you to see a version of love that can make it in the real world.  Human beings are flawed.    People  need to be loved for their faults as well as their virtues.  I am aware that love is a “madness” and know that it is easy in the beginning to be awestruck and silly, but I want you to find a love that will prevail over time and the day-to-day drudgery of a relationship.

If you listen to nothing else, please heed this advice: Do not to put your love on a pedestal.  Pedestals can be capricious places!

Love is not in the falling, it is in the staying.
