existing

merely existing

is not the same as living

it’s waiting to die

confined by picket fences

middle ground ~haiku

why is it always

too much or just not enough

where is the balance

sleep

being

broken and weary

seeking eternal slumber

she curled beneath it’s canopy

the winter tree laid down it’s leaves

blanketing her in serendipity

freshly fallen snow

turns grey under careless feet-

as a broken heart

a band of gold around your finger

shouldn’t feel like bracelets made of steel

you should feel his arm around your shoulders

not his hands around your throat

5 haiku

Haiku prompted by the following quote:

[…] “We have lost contact with reality, the simplicity of life”. […] Paulo Coelho

These are separate…and in no particular order.

1.

illumination

of every street light and house

obscure the moonlight

2.

social networking

facebook friends and followers

don’t replace friendship

3.

live your own real life

there is no reality

on television

4.

don’t follow blindly

choose to see reality

knowledge empowers

5.

be here with me now

take off your shoes, stay awhile

enjoy the moments

he made me

his boyish grin and twinkling eyes

penetrated my hard earned armor

and made it impossible to resist him
