Cherry Trees In Full Bloom (Japan)

You tell me you don’t believe in magic.  You say fairies aren’t real.  You say I need to get my head out of the clouds and see reality.  I think you just need to open your eyes…

Poppy

Art from Pixabay

Poppy hid herself away in the dark for so long.  At first, the others had done this to her but now her captivity was by her own hand. She had to step outside and find who she was to become.

In the bright sunshine

as her name compels her to

the flower opens

Flammagenitus

“…a flammagenitus cloud in … California” from wikipedia

Across the room, hazy with cigarettes, our eyes lock.  Our judgment may be a bit clouded by too many drinks, (vodka for me, whiskey for you) but at this moment we are exactly what each other needs.  We make our exit from the bar and quickly check in at the hotel across the street.

Broken Heart ~haiku

His indifference

crushed her most foolish organ

caged beneath her breast

manipulating

as if it were hot, red wax

a flame, extinguished

Sunday- haiku

another Sunday

bringing beauty at daybreak

outside my window

lizards scampering

squirrels chattering great truths

the yard is alive

sipping my coffee

i prepare to start the day,

already begun

possibilities…

what will you bring to the day

it is up to you

patchwork girl (haiku)

sins of her father
black swatches and blue ribbons
of mother’s neglect
she’s a patchwork girl
pieces stitched together by
vivid crimson thread
