des·i·de·ri·um (haiku)

desiderium

my lips hunger for your taste

lingering kisses

desiderium

my flesh tingles at the thought

gentle caresses

desiderium

i’m heart broken, my soul aches

where did the love go?

love (haiku)

all-encompassing

absolute, true and boundless

is Mother Earth’s love

she nurtures all in

a universal embrace

will you love her back?

linger – a haiku

your words lingering

as smoke in an enclosed room

cause my eyes to tear

but they love each other- a series of haiku

A series of haiku that I wrote for Artists4Peace.  This month’s topic was Breaking the Cycles of Abuse

she is wearing a

turtleneck in the summer

to hide fresh bruises

fingerprint necklace

one of many abuses

that she covers up

she can’t tell her friends

not that she has many left

he made sure of that

she doesn’t know why

she keeps making him so mad

she must do better

if he is so bad

why doesn’t she leave, you ask

you don’t understand

he loves her so much

he feels terrible after

says it’s the last time

and she loves him too

so she lives this way

in spite of herself

anemic

In need of your truth

my soul, once more depleted

becomes anemic

In need of your love

my blood runs unaereated

growing anemic

You are my weakness

my heart, again defeated

I am anemic

no leaves and mud strewn about

Do you see the birds? (a series of haiku)

Picture taken right outside my writing room. Do you see the birds?

Picture taken right outside my writing room.
Do you see the birds?

green leaves in shadow

birds perched on slender branches

outside my window

blue birds do fly bys

chirping gossip out of tune

they sing no response

flitting in the breeze

that warns of the coming rain

they seek no shelter

content to just be

little green leafy birds stay

to inspire me
