The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Smoky shadows

hungrily lick the tunnel walls

as flickering flames dance ‘round and ‘round

their unwitting victims with skin blistered and charred

singing,  “ashes, ashes they all fall down”

in our haste to find the light at the end of the tunnel…

we forgot to read the small print.

  1. What a great ending to a wonderful poem (which did NOT show up in my reader, by the way).

  2. It’s usually, the, fine prints, of these, “contracts” we were, “lured”, into signing that we end up, paying for, the most…

  3. Speaking of small print… that reminds me of medications and all the ‘possible’ side affects. At one point my MIL read it all and chose not to take the med. It is sometimes hard to justify the cure. And it is very counter intuitive that vaccines actually have a part of the ‘bad’ product in them in order to allow the body to build up the needed immunity.
