when all hope is gone

the pain in your heart

seeps out of your eyes

and while you still long for freedom

you’ve long ago lost the will to fight

slowly, you’ve succumbed to your demons

now, into the abyss you take flight

with wings far too tattered to fly

you knowingly, willingly depart

and as you fall to your enviable death

only the stillness

bears witness

as you take your last breath.

  1. I find this beautiful. When you’ve done al that you can…falling with tattered wings, alone, in the silence, is true freedom.
