Paresthesia

i’m stranded

thoughts strangled

by emotion

i must-have slept on my brain funny*

’cause I’ve lost the ability to word

and

it is pins and needle painful

โˆซ

my body has been laughing at me

for years

but

I’ve always been able to count on my mind

but somehow that seems lost in time

as records play

on repeat

* I unashamedly admit that I stole the line “i must-have slept on my brain funny” from my very silly husband

  1. Well stolen! Wonderful line and great poem ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. At my age we call it, brain fog. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great poem. I’d love to memorize it, but fog brain is very real. I don’t think you’re there yet, I think you just slept funny.

  3. Brian is so awesome. ๐Ÿ™‚ This is another wonderful poem and I think most people can relate to in many ways. “thoughts strangled by emotion,” “as records play on repeat.” important lines and reminders to pull ourselves out of those places. I love this. it’s wonderful.
