hard, grey rocks
unforgiving path
or is it
perspective
unanticipated joy
blooms amid the grey

What is “shadorma”? Sorry for being so ignorant! I like what you wrote. Many years back, when I was living in China, and some political shit fell on my head, one of my Chinese friends told me the story of Lao Wang. Lao Wang’s son broke his leg. Lao Wang said, “It is good”. A month later, when the king’s generals came to recruit young kids for the army, and a war, Lao Wang’s son was the only one not asked to join the army. The other kids survived. There is another story about Lao Wang, and his reaction to a bounty.
Lao Wang has often kept me company!
Oh,no problem 🙂 Shadorma is the form. Most of my stuff is free verse so when i use a form i try to label it. So sometimes after the title you will see Haiku or Shadorma or Sonnet etc.
A shadorma is composed of six non-rhyming lines (sestina or sextet) and the syllable pattern is 3-5-3-3-7-5. It can have as many stanzas as you like, just as long as each stanza follows the syllable pattern mentioned above
Thanks!! I do enjoy writing. But, insofar as verse and poetry are concerned, I can spell the two words, but can’t write ’em. However, I did write a long piece of doggerel on a conversation between Puss in Boots and The Devil
LOL! Give me a link to this conversation…I need to read it! 🙂
It is really quite bad!! But, since you asked, it starts like this. “Puss In Boots went down to the roots / Of love, hate and desire/ And, what she saw there, /Set her heart afire/ For she saw that God is a liar” !
LOL!
Cool…like what you did with the form…really great imagery, I can see it without the photo! 🙂
Thank you so much. 🙂
very welcome indeed…a lovely addition!
🙂
Finally your words are on my reader… Where have you been?
I’ve been here..you haven’t been in my reader either…sometimes the reader is flukey. Good to see you again 🙂 Hope you are well.
Totally! Then I get people who never visit mine.. Thank goodness were back:)
