gastropod (for Photo prompt Mollusk)

this

predatory mollusk

leads

a very different life

than a simple garden snail

it comes out

only after dusk

in its shell

it holds a knife

and it hunts

for your trail

unwhetted

by leaf and husk

it needs human blood to stay alive

it will kill us all

without fail
