this
predatory mollusk
leads
a very different life
than a simple garden snail
⊥
it comes out
only after dusk
in its shell
it holds a knife
and it hunts
for your trail
⊥
unwhetted
by leaf and husk
it needs human blood to stay alive
it will kill us all
without fail

I concur – sinister & delicious 😉
Thank you 🙂
I love it. Who would think a snail would be a killer? What a clever poem:)
I never would have…but then that picture. 🙂 Thank you.
The art is reminiscent of H.R. Geiger’s work. Dark and sinister. Just like your words. I love it!
Oh, thank you so much 🙂
You’re welcome!
Oh, the rhyme was very eerie and powerfull! Well crafted!
I couldn’t write anything but eerie…did you see that picture?!
Yes, I loved the picture! But then again, thats my kind of art, I realise msot would get drawn into too somber of a mood.
I tend to gravitate toward the dark and somber…it was the snails that kinda weirded me out. 😉
Love these words – and, that gastropod!
Thank you!
this is scary – freaky scary!
LOL, thank you!
BAH…I like everything you write, your style speaks to me.
