triality (a trio)

I.

unhappy childhood

steeped in negativity

a born pessimist

head in books and clouds

creativity released

reborn optimist

there is Good and Bad

choose to see reality

    I love the message of this poem, summed up in the last stanza – choose. We all have negative experiences, of varying degrees, at some stage of our lives. Sometimes, especially as defenceless children, we have absolutely no control over the situation and are unable to protect ourselves. But, as adults, we do have the power to choose. We choose to bury our heads in the sand, we choose to be pessimists, we choose to be optimists…we choose.
    A succinct poem with a lot of punch ♥
