how I long for a place like that my time in which to spend
a glorious, peaceful, isolated place -of mountain, lake and wind
where my weary mind can rest and my battered soul can mend
surrounded by nature’s beauty that my imagination cannot transcend
no one else around to inflict with me, no one else with which to pretend
~Melanie Blackwell
Beautiful, wistful and soulful.
Thank you lovely
What a great way to start my day this is a beautiful way to mend!
While a physical locale like that would be ideal, use your imagination and you can spend time there EVERY DAY. 🙂
I do try :0)
As do I.

Can I come too?
Sure! You’d provide comic relief 😀
Ohhhh…take me, too!! I won’t say a word, and you can completely be yourself!! Pretty Pleeeease?? 😀 This was lovely!! Your talent brings a smile to my face.
Come along… maybe we need a couple cabins 🙂 Glad you liked!
The photo is from Kalix River, Räktforsen, Sweden. Big river far up in North. I use to be there every summer! Fantastic place! The sun is up in june-juli day and night.
I like the beautiful poem. Actually it is very “Nordic”. The style is like the poems from some Swedish nationalpoets like G Fröding, D Andersson but more modern! In some way also like Karin Boye. But still I can see it is a genuine Melanie poem! The little cottage beside the river seems to be a place for you! Imagine, listen to the rapids! Best Regards from Leo!
Thank you so much. I can’t even begin to digest such high praise and being compared to true artists. 🙂
Nothing like solitude to heal yourself from the inside out. Loved the poem. Reowr!
Precisely 🙂
I love this and the little red cabin among all this beauty! Awesome poem and photo.
Thank you! I love the photo and could only dream of being in such a place 🙂
😃
