Seeking Solitude

how I long for a place like that my time in which to spend

a glorious, peaceful, isolated place -of mountain, lake and wind

where my weary mind can rest and my battered soul can mend

surrounded by nature’s beauty that my imagination cannot transcend

no one else around to inflict with me, no one else with which to pretend

While a physical locale like that would be ideal, use your imagination and you can spend time there EVERY DAY. ๐Ÿ™‚

The photo is from Kalix River, Rรคktforsen, Sweden. Big river far up in North. I use to be there every summer! Fantastic place! The sun is up in june-juli day and night.
I like the beautiful poem. Actually it is very “Nordic”. The style is like the poems from some Swedish nationalpoets like G Frรถding, D Andersson but more modern! In some way also like Karin Boye. But still I can see it is a genuine Melanie poem! The little cottage beside the river seems to be a place for you! Imagine, listen to the rapids! Best Regards from Leo!
