Acrostic Prompt: House Work from The Typewriter Workshop
—
How does it get sooo
Overwhelmingly dirty in one week
Under the bed needs sweeping
Scrub the floors but good
Every nook and cranny now
—
Wash all that dirty laundry
Organize that messy hall closet
Rest–oh no not yet
Kitchen isn’t gonna clean itself
~Melanie Blackwell
Melanie this is perfect and letterperfect to the instructions!
Thank you…and I saw your note about not so intense 🙂
house-work… ha.. 😀
🙂 I know I still owe you a post… hopefully tomorrow!
Oh yes.. will look forward to it.. there is no deadline for the prompt.. 🙂
OK, good…just have a lot on my proverbial plate right now 🙂
insight
incredibly, nice, simple, intelligent, great, heroic,(tangy?) I give up.. I like your blog!
Thanks so much! …tangy huh? Never had my writing called tangy…I like it 🙂
kinda biting… pointy
🙂 LOL
Cats are adverse to housework. Wake me up when you finish the laundry.
Now ain’t that the truth! And so am I by the way…I have to confess my house is a wreck right now!
Sigh….yes ma’am. 😀
You read numbers 1 and 2 out of order…#1 is what we are programmed to think…#2 was the real deal!
I have a 5 year old so no matter what I do it seems a lost cause, the kitchen is the worst I have to clean every time I see it. Whoever thought white cabinets was a cute idea was a masochist
Indeed…and I know someone with white carpets and a white couch…makes me shudder just to think about it!!!
I’m thinking of attaching brushes to the cats’ heads and letting them clean up for once.
Good luck with that!
I like this one even better than #2 (which I read first). I like the self-dialogue within the poem. Housework can seem like a necessary evil, but those who do it well tell me it can be a rewarding spiritual discipline. (I’ll take their word for it.)
Thanks and as to “those people” yeah, ok, whatever you say. ::backs away slowly:: 🙂
I’m with Cubby on this. If the sheets and towels are warm from the dryer, that’s where you can find me. Purrr.
I’ll do a big load of towels and then throw the blankets in and we can all snuggle up and nap 🙂
