- Lightning Storm, Kentucky Photograph by Jason Whitman, My Shot
There is a feeling like lightening
rushing through my veins
there is a sound like thunder
pounding in my head
–splitting it open
It is the power of you
coursing through me
like a black beast
curled upon my stomach
there is a storm brewing in my belly
and there is nothing to be done about it
guess I’m predisposed to it
your face is in my eyes, my thighs
and I’ve come undone at the seams
~Melanie Blackwell
GREAT picture!!!
“…there is a storm brewing in my belly…”
Same here. I ought to know better than to have sprouts when I’ve got the flu.

Reblogging another May post π
there is a storm brewing in my belly
and there is nothing to be done about it
guess Iβm predisposed to it
just as we are powerless to halt a storm,
or the ensuing thunder and lightning,
sometimes we just have to submit to those
overwhelming emotions, i love this poem!
and that pic is incredible Melanie.
Like your poem, Melanie. Fantastic photo in the right moment!
The ability to write about brewing storm without falling into unrestrained frenzy only confirms your talent, Melanie.
Thank you
Picture and words…both perfect. Great poem.
Thank you π
